Catalina Díaz - English Beginner A: My Auto Biography

 Hello, I am Catalina Díaz, I was born in Rancagua.

I was born in 2003 in Rancagua, my family before that lived in Santiago de Chile. Rancagua is a pretty boring city and not many have visited it.

In my family we are 6 people, but we live in two houses because my parents are separated.
My father works in mining and my mother does cleaning. My older sister is out of work and my other two brothers (one older and one younger) only study.



We have 4 dogs, Li lives in my mother's house and Bartolo, Blanca and Frida in my father's house, they are all very playful, except Li, she gets angry quickly. 





Currently what I do is study sociology at the University of Chile. And also help in a group for deaf people. Sometimes I like to rollerblade, but I still haven't learned to brake.

Since I was little, I was never interested in technology.  I only used the phone and sometimes a computer to do my homework.  This  year   I   started   university; I   study   sociology ,  it   is  a  career  where  I   read   a  lot  and, in  addition ,  I   have  online classes, so everything  I   do   is  in technological devices. At the beginning of the year, I decided to buy a Tablet to study, read and make notes, it was the best decision.  Normally I read my texts in it, and I can go highlighting them and writing on top of them, I really like that.   I   also   use   it  to  have  digital notes, that  helps   me  to be more organized with what they  teach   me  at the  university . A Photograph and Its Story

This photograph was taken in February 2020, I did not realize that it had been taken. The first thing I did was print it out and put it in a safe place. I'm so glad I did that because the digital photography was lost. His name is Nicolas; he is a person with a disability and is in a situation of abandonment, from a very young age he has lived in the “Little Cottolengo” home, along with many other people. I spent all my summer helping and doing workshops as a volunteer for most of the people there, but not for Nicolas. I met him in the last days of January, because I went to visit his home, I brought bubbles and he loved them, from that moment we formed a very special connection.  In the photo I'm blowing him a kiss and he is blowing me (I can't show his face because SENAME protects his identity), after having sung him a song.
